Xiaomi reveals why there are five cameras on the Mi Note 10

Xiaomi is really going all out to push its photography game with its upcoming Mi Note 10. Seen as a global variant of the Xiaomi CC9 Pro in China, the device will come with a total of five cameras that appears to offer greater versatility than the Nokia 9 PureView.

The Chinese smartphone maker has revealed the Mi Note 10’s camera specs and they are indeed similar to the CC9 Pro.

The device gets a 108MP main camera that uses Samsung’s ISOCELL sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP camera for portrait shots. The cameras are arranged vertically in a 3 + 2 array and the device also comes with 4 LED flash.

Interestingly, the very top camera is a 5MP telephoto shooter that can offer up to 50X zoom. 5MP is surprisingly low for a telephoto camera especially considering the ultra-wide-angle lens has a much higher pixel count. Perhaps it has larger pixels which can provide better performance in low-light situations.

From Xiaomi’s CC9 Pro teasers on Weibo, the telephoto camera offers 5X optical zoom, 10X hybrid zoom and it can go all the way to 50X in digital, which is similar to the P30 Pro. Last but not least, is a dedicated 2MP super macro lens for you to capture objects up close.

Xiaomi has also dropped a couple of sample photos on their Weibo page and you can click on the individual photos below to get a clearer view.

The Xiaomi CC9 Pro will be announced in China on the 5th November 2019 at 2PM. Since Xiaomi global has started teasing on Twitter, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 should be revealed very soon as well.
