Donald Trump tells Tim Cook: Bring back the iPhone home button

The iPhone 11 series was released without the iconic home button altogether, which isn’t anything new. Like last year’s iPhones, the new iPhones utilise the gesture navigation system that was first introduced with the iPhone X in 2017—but it appears that a pretty prominent figure isn’t too satisfied with the “new” way of doing things.

The president of the U.S., Donald Trump, has tweeted his discontent at the lack of a home button on the iPhone, addressing the post to Apple CEO, Tim Cook.

We’re guessing that Trump has just switched to one of the newer iPhones—probably the iPhone 11 series—from an iPhone 8. Back in 2017, the White House director of social media tweeted that the president had switched to an iPhone from an Android device:

Based on his latest Tweet, it looks like Trump had been using one of the older iPhones for at least 2 years, and has now discovered the intricacies of the new navigation system for iPhones. What’s surprising is that the president of the United States, who you’d assume would have access to the latest tech from American companies, has only now discovered something that has been around for some time.

In fact, many Android systems have incorporated similar navigation systems in their UIs as well. What do you think about the gesture navigation system on the iPhone, as compared to the home button? Let us know in the comments section below.
