The Nokia 7.2 and 6.2 are Nokia’s latest triple-camera midrange smartphones

Nokia has announced 2 new smartphones for the midrange market in Malaysia: The Nokia 7.2 and the Nokia 6.2. Both are, of course, running on stock Android One, with the former’s price starting at RM1,299 and the latter being priced from RM899.

The key feature for the Nokia 7.2 is the triple-camera setup at the rear, including a 48 MP 1/2″ Quad Pixel main camera, a 5 MP depth sensor, and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens—as well as a 20MP Quad Pixel front-facing selfie camera. Nokia says that the 7.2 has “advanced low-light imaging” thanks to AI technology working in tandem with its 48MP sensor.

Under the hood, the Nokia 7.2 is powered by the midrange Snapdragon 660, which is mated to 6GB of RAM. Along with 128GB of storage, you also get a microSD slot that supports up to 512GB of expandable storage. Sustaining the device, is a relatively average-sized 3,500mAh battery, which Nokia claims gives you a 2-day battery life.

As for the Nokia 6.2, you get a lower-end Snapdragon 636, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is also expandable by up to 512GB via microSD. Camera-wise, you’re getting a triple-camera setup as well, with a 16 MP main sensor, a 5 MP depth sensor, along with a 8 MP sensor with ultra-wide lens. In addition to that, the Nokia 6.2 has an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies.

Both the Nokia 6.2 and 7.2 come with decently large displays, with 6.3″ Full HD+ IPS displays—which is somewhat of a relief, with the recent resurgence of 720p displays in the midrange smartphone market.

The Nokia 7.2 is available in Malaysia for RM1,299 for the variant with 6GB and 128GB of storage, with colour choices of Charcoal, Cyan Green, and Ice—purchases from an authorised Nokia retailer will also net you a free backpack and a 16GB memory card (while stocks last). On the other hand, the Nokia 6.2 will only be available from October onwards with a base variant of 4GB/64GB, from a price of RM899.
