Celcom’s new Xpax Lite plan lets you customise your plan from RM28

Celcom has just announced a new postpaid Xpax plan that places a focus on flexibility, with prices for “XPax Lite” plans starting from RM28. At the launch earlier today, Celcom CEO Idham Nawawi, along with Roy Ong, Chief Product and Innovation Officer, explained that XP Lite is essentially the cheapest postpaid plan to get onto “the best 4G network in Malaysia”.

For RM28/month, customers will get 1GB of internet, along with unlimited calls. An additional 7GB of internet will cost RM10 (M Pass), while the L Pass gives customers an additional 14GB of internet for RM 30. For the M Pass, an extra 4GB of internet is given, along with 3GB of Video Walla, while L Pass subscribers will get 11GB of additional internet along with 3GB of Video Walla.

In a move to reward brand loyalty, Celcom will be giving customers who continuously subscribe to the L or M Passes for 6 months a free 1-hour period of unlimited internet everyday—the Ultra Hour Pass—along with 1GB of Video Walla. Do note that the Xpax Lite plans are not tied to any contracts, with customers free to come and go as they please.

For subscribers of the L Pass, Celcom will be bundling in an Oppo A1K smartphone (while stocks lasts), with the option to choose another smartphone such as the Nubia Red Magic 3, Vivo y17, Vivo Y19C, and Oppo A5 for prices starting at RM99.

According Roy Ong, the XP Lite plan is essentially a “pick and mix” plan that offers a degree of flexibility:

“Size up your XP Lite mobile plan and enjoy more internet with additional perks such as access to unlimited high-speed data and device bundles at your own convenience.”

Celcom CEO Idham Nawawi also said that the appeal for Xpax Lite lies in a relatively affordable entry-point into “the best 4G network in Malaysia”. Of course, Celcom was recently ranked at No. 1 for 4G Availability and Upload Speed Experience in Malaysia by Opensignal. In fact, we recently spoke to Opensignal CEO, Brendan Gill, on mobile connectivity in Malaysia, which you can view here.

The Xpax Lite plan is available from the 19th of September, 2019. You can find out more about the plan here.
