Vivo preparing to release its latest mid-range smartphone, the V17 Pro. Ahead of its official announcement, the hardware specs are now revealed thanks to reliable leakster Roland Quandt.

Similar to the current Vivo V15 Pro, the new device will come with a 6.44″ FullView AMOLED display that has no notches or punch-holes. It pushes a rather tall 2,440 x 1080 pixels resolution and it also houses an in-display fingerprint sensor.

To solve the selfie camera conundrum, it uses a pop-up selfie mechanism which is now doubled to house a 32MP main shooter and a secondary 2MP camera. According to Roland, the main selfie camera uses a wide-angle lens while the secondary camera is used for bokeh effects.

Under the hood, it appears that the Vivo V17 Pro is still running on a Snapdragon 675 processor like the current V15 Pro. It is said to have 8GB RAM + 128GB of storage, and it runs on Android 9.0 Pie.

Over at the rear, the device features a dual-curved glass back which gives it a more upmarket feel. As seen before, it has a quad-camera setup that’s aligned vertically. The main shooter is a 48MP camera and it is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter plus two additional 2MP cameras for depth sensing and possibly for macro.

While there’s no change in processor, the new device will get a significant upgrade in the battery department from 3,700mAh to 4,100mAh. More importantly, Vivo is finally ditching the microUSB port in favour of a USB-C, which is a first in the V series. Roland also added that the 3.5mm headphone jack is apparently retained as well.

The device is expected to come to our region very soon. Vivo Indonesia has just released its teasers which confirm the camera setup. You can check out their promo video below:
