Samsung Galaxy A30s might support Samsung Pay in Malaysia

The new Samsung Galaxy A30s has just passed SIRIM’s certification and it could be the most affordable smartphone to support Samsung Pay. According to its listing with the model number SM-A307GN, the Galaxy A30s will come with NFC included, which a required feature to support the mobile payment feature.

In case you didn’t know, Samsung Pay allows you to use your smartphone to replace your Visa Paywave and Mastercard Paypass cards. On the current Galaxy A 2019 series that’s offered locally, the Galaxy A80 is the only model to support it. The other devices which include the Galaxy A30, A50 and Galaxy A70 doesn’t come with NFC.

Today, Samsung has just announced the Galaxy A10s for the Malaysian market and with this discovery, it seems that the Galaxy A30s could go on sale very soon. Furthermore, Samsung Malaysia has already removed the current Galaxy A30 from their website.

The Galaxy A30s still comes with a 6.4″ Super AMOLED display and it now features an in-display fingerprint sensor. Unfortunately, the resolution has been downgraded from a 1080p to a 720p display.

From the global spec-sheet, it appears that it still uses an Exynos 7904 processor and the device can be configured with up to 4GB RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Apart from having a refreshed exterior with funky geometric patterns, Samsung has also upgraded its rear cameras to a triple-camera setup. It now gets a 25MP f/1.7 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, it comes with a 16MP f/2.0 front shooter.

Like its predecessor, it still comes with a large 4,000mAh battery and it supports 15W fast charging via USB-C. When the Galaxy A30 was introduced in Malaysia, it was priced at RM799 with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
