MCMC wants you to report offensive content via WhatsApp

If you come across any content that offends any race, religion or royalty (3R) on social media and various online platforms, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) wants you to report it so that they can take further action. To make it easier, you can also submit a complaint via WhatsApp.

To make a report, just submit a screenshot and the URL of the offending content by WhatsApp to 016-220 6262. If the content is circulated via WhatApp, you are urged to include a screenshot that shows the sender’s mobile phone number.

Alternatively, you can also submit a report by email to mediasocial@mcmc.gov.my.

The MCMC has urged Malaysians to practice moderation when commenting on sensitive issues to preserve the harmony and peace that the country has achieved in the past 62 years. Any comments or negativity that threatens the unity of our multicultural community must be stopped immediately in the interest of everyone.

MCMC Chairman, Al-Ishsal Ishak, has reminded everyone to think before posting a statement or comment on sensitive issues. Do not tweet, share or make comments that will offend any community in the country. He urged Malaysians to be more mature in evaluating and to make a stand against all threats that affect our peace and prosperity.
