The Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro will officially launch on August 20 in Europe

The Mi 9T was released earlier this year to a great critical reception, including being named as the best smartphone you can buy under RM1,500 in our 2019 buyer’s guide. But everyone has been waiting for the official release of the more powerful Mi 9T Pro, otherwise known as the Redmi K20 Pro in China, with some small, but notable differences—including a genuine flagship-class Snapdragon 855 and the ability to shoot 4K videos at 60 fps.

After news that the Mi 9T Pro had passed SIRIM certification (which means it should be launched in Malaysia soon), Xiaomi has announced via its Netherlands Facebook page that the Mi 9T Pro will be officially launched in Europe on August 20.

The post says that countries in the Benelux Union—the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg—will see the official release of Xiaomi’s latest flagship on the 20th of August 2019. It’s worth noting that based on past releases, the rest of Europe should see the smartphone released there shortly after August 20.

According to GSMArena, the variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage should cost €429 (about RM2,007) and the version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage should retail for €479 (about RM2,241). However, European prices are usually higher than local RRPs in Malaysia, and we expect the Mi 9T Pro to go for less than RM2,000 in Malaysia when it’s officially launched.
