redONE Travel Data SIM lets you roam in 7 countries for RM50 per week

redONE has just introduced a data roaming product which allows you to enjoy multi-country roaming with a single SIM. The Travel Data SIM provides 4G LTE data in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

There are two options available – RM50 for 4GB data with 7 days validity and RM100 for 8GB data with 15 days validity. Since this is a data-only SIM, you won’t be able to make voice calls and SMS.

According to the FAQ, you can still stay connected after you’ve depleted your quota but speeds will be throttled to 128kbps. The SIM will be activated from the day you insert your SIM card and redONE recommends that you use it only when you’ve arrived at your destination. From the looks of it, there are no options for extension or reload and this appears to be a single-use SIM card.

Overall, this is a pretty interesting offering if you need to travel to multiple Asian countries for an extended duration. Since the SIM is data only, you can insert this as your second SIM while your primary SIM card is used for calls and SMS. Just make sure that the Travel Data SIM is enabled as your active SIM for data and roaming.

The Travel Data SIM is available at all redONE Premier Shops and Branches nationwide. You can learn more about the plan here.
