If you’re interested to get DJI’s new Osmo Action, it appears that you can pre-order official sets with local warranty in Malaysia. A couple of online camera stores have started accepting orders and you can get it for less than RM1,600.
On ShaShinKi, the DJI Osmo Action is going for RM1,550 and this is the standalone kit with the bare essential accessories which include the mounting frame with one flat and one curved adhesive mount. The same product is going for RM1,590 on March.my.
If you’re looking for a microSD card bundle, KLDSLR is selling the DJI Osmo Action with a 32GB card for RM1,899. So far there are no confirmed dates yet for its official availability.
To recap, the DJI Osmo Action is a direct competitor to the GoPro Hero7 Black. The overall design looks similar and it stands out for having a front-facing screen to frame your shot. It can shoot 4K footages in 60fps at 100Mbps with a 145-degree field of view. The Osmo Action is also capable of shooting 240fps slow-mo videos in 1080p.
Similar to the GoPro Hero7, there’s also a built-in stabilisation feature called RockSteady. What’s interesting is that the Osmo Action front lens is removable and it enables you to add an ND filter if required. Powering the device is a 1,300mAh battery and it charges via USB-C. The Osmo Action is waterproof up to 11 metres and if you want to go further, you can add-on a waterproof case that’s rated for up to 60 metres deep.
