[Updated] Maybank is facing service interruptions affecting cards and online banking

UPDATE: Maybank services are fully restored as of 9.05PM. Below is their statement on the matter:

Media statement: Services are back to normal

A Maybank spokesperson explained that the service interruption occurred earlier this afternoon owing to a technical issue which affected MEPS, TAC and some cards related transactions conducted via the Bank’s electronic banking channels.

“As of now, the issue has been resolved and services are back to normal. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding”.

======

Maybank has announced via Facebook and Twitter that they are facing intermittent service interruptions on their banking network. This affects some cardholders as well as electronic banking services.

Maybank is currently working on rectifying the issue as soon as possible. It appears that the problem also affects instant bank fund transfers (IBFT) via Maybank2U, MEPS, Reloads and TAC for all telco numbers.
