Apart from paying toll, merchants and performing wallet to wallet transfers, the Touch ‘n Go eWallet has just enabled QR-based payment at a mosque in Kampung Kerinchi. This feature could be extended to other mosques nationwide which can help to improve their daily operations and collections.

The partnership with Ar-Rahah Mosque in Kampung Kerinchi is seen as an effort to make technology more inclusive. This would make it easier for visitors to donate and make a contribution with just their smartphone.

This cooperation between TNG Digital and Ar-Rahah will cover several programs throughout the year which include the following:

  • Generation 13 – A special class for youths that focuses on the perfection and philosophy of Solat, namely the 13 Rukun Solat, as the foundation for human capital development.
  • Ar-Rahah De Hearty (Gotong-royong) – An outdoor program that covers aerobics, gotong-royong and treasure hunts as a way to get closer to the community in Kampung Kerinchi.
  • i-Entrepreneur – Entrepreneurship seminars that feature success stories of corporate figures and the importance of using technology within the framework of Islamic Law.
  • Back to school – A CSR exercise on school preparation, motivation sessions, hair-cuts, circumcision and providing school bags for children.

During the event, Ustaz Khairul Hafiz from Ar-Rahah had mentioned that, “We need to be open to accepting technology as a means to improve ourselves and the community we live in. Through this programme with TNG Digital, we are helping to foster more balanced future leaders”. TNG Digital CEO, Syahrunizam Samsudin, says that each contribution matters, whether it is big or small, and they hope that their platform can make collections more significant and meaningful.

According to TNG Digital, Touch ‘n Go eWallet is Malaysia’s fastest growing eWallet and they currently have 2.3 million registered users. The Touch ‘n Go eWallet app is available for both Android and iOS.
