ICYMI #11: EVERY smartphone launched in Malaysia so far in 2019

Welcome to a special episode of ICYMI where we’re not going to be bringing you the latest news that mattered, in case you missed it, but instead we’ll be doing something a little different. On this episode, we’ll be looking at all the smartphones that have launched in Malaysia so far. So, if you’ve been looking for a new smartphone to start 2019, this video is for you.

Xiaomi Mi MIX 3

One of the more interesting smartphones to launch locally, the Mi MIX 3 is a slider device that has crazy small bezels and flagship specs. Check out our announcement post for the price, and our review to find out what we think of the handset.

Motorola One

Motorola is back in Malaysia and they’ve got a brand new mid-range smartphone called the Motorola One. It packs mid-range specs, though considering the competitive market of 2019, it might not have the kind of specs you want for a phone of this price.

Huawei Nova 4

Huawei has finally announced their first smartphone for 2019 and it’s called the Nova 4. It features a punch-hole display at the front and flagship specs on the inside. However, you can’t buy it yet. Want to know what I think of the phone? Check out my first impressions.

Razer Phone 2

Finally, Razer’s entered the Malaysian market with the Razer Phone 2. This device packs all your flagship goodies, a killer screen, a killer pair of front-facing headphones and a sexy look. Is it worth your time? Here’s what I think.

ASUS ZenFone Max M2

If you can’t afford the Pro, the ASUS ZenFone Max M2 may be more your speed. It still retains a large battery and decent specs, but now it comes with a much lower price tag.

Honor 10 Lite

Honor’s making a splash with the pretty Honor 10 Lite. It comes with Honor’s mid-range processor and a solid price tag to boot. Learn more about this device here.

Vivo NEX Dual Display

Everyone remembers the Vivo NEX with its motorised sliding camera. Well, apparently Vivo is done with that because their latest iteration of the NEX comes with no selfie camera and two AMOLED displays — one on the front and one at the back!

Nokia 8.1

And because I was a bit of an idiot, I completely forgot to mention the Nokia 8.1. Despite its flagship-sounding name, this is actually a mid-range handset that you can pick up for under RM2,000. More details here.
