Let’s Talk About #1: Top upcoming smartphones Q1 2019, Samsung Galaxy S10 & what’s up with Apple?

New year, new show. Welcome to the first episode of Let’s Talk About, a weekly show where we sit down and have a chat about anything and everything that matters in realm of technology. We’ll be giving you our own insight into each topic and we’ll also be sharing our own opinions.

Today, we’ll be talking about:

Top upcoming smartphones in Q1 (Jan – Mar) 2019

The first quarter of 2019 looks to be one that’s going to be chock-full of new smartphone launches. You’ve got the upcoming flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S10, the Huawei P30, and you’ve also got the local launches for devices like the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. In this episode, we go through what we think are the most exciting devices coming out in Q1 of the new year.

Samsung Galaxy S10

Needless to say, Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone — the Galaxy S10 — is one of the most highly anticipated devices yet, and it’s not hard to see why. Not only will it come with killer specs, but rumour has it that this device will also feature brand new tech like an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a punch hole Infinity-O display!

Apple’s revised quarterly targets

It looks like fewer people are buying the iPhone than expected. As a result, Apple had to revise its earnings for its fiscal 2019 first quarter — historically Apple’s best-performing quarter.

Apple initially projected a revenue of USD93 billion for the Q1 this year but they are lowering their revenue guidance by 9.7% to $84 billion, which is lower than the same period last year where they posted a record revenue of USD88.3 billion. What does this mean for the tech giant?
