In the past couple of weeks, WhatsApp has rolled out plenty of new updates. After introducing a bunch of new features on the instant messaging application such as stickers and picture-in-picture (PiP) mode, WhatsApp is set to make more tweaks to its platform.
Now, Whatsapp has introduced a slight change within its group chat feature that makes it easier for users to start group video calls.
Before the update is implemented, users are required to start a 1-on-1 video call, then add participants – there wasn’t an option to begin a group call at once.
In the new update, users will be able to open up the group chat for the group they wish to call, tap on the phone icon located at the top-right corner and select the contacts to be included in that call. Once it is done, you can select between a video or voice call.
You can also make group calls from the Calls Tab as well. Just tap on the call icon on the top-right corner of the screen and select the contacts you want to call.
However, Whatsapp currently supports voice and video calls up to four people at once.
The new update was rolled out for iPhones on Wednesday and will be extended to Android devices soon.
