RapidKL’s unlimited-ride monthly passes are available from today

The RapidKL unlimited-ride monthly passes announced at the tabling of Belanjawan 2019 are available for purchase from today and can be used from January 2019 onwards.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the government expects about 200,000 subscribers a month for the Unlimited Travel Pass My100 and My50, according to the Malay Mail.

The My100 unlimited travel pass will cost RM100 monthly and is good for unlimited rides on RapidKL bus and train services including the LRT, BRT, MRT, monorail and MRT feeder busses.

The My50 unlimited travel pass is cheaper and costs RM50 a month but provide unlimited rides for RapidKL bus services only (including MRT feeder busses but not BRT).

The passes can only be activated using the Touch ‘n Go feature on your existing MyKad, MyTentera and MyKid identification cards. You can subscribe to the unlimited-ride pass at all LRT and MRT stations. Alternatively, you can also get the passes at the five bus hubs located at section 2, Shah Alam, Greenwood (Gombak), Sri Nilam (Ampang), Pasar Seni and at the Kajang terminal.

The minister expects the initiative to boost the use of public transportation which will, in turn, lower transportation costs. The transport ministry estimates an initial cost of RM120 million for the programme which is enough to sustain 120,000 users.

The minister said Klang Valley was chosen as the launch location for the initiative as it has the highest concentration of public transport infrastructure in Malaysia.
