I think the live-action Pokemon in Detective Pikachu is so adorable

Pika, pika?

After years on anticipation, Warner Bros. has finally released the first trailer for the upcoming live-action Pokemon movie, Detective Pikachu. The movie is expected to hit cinemas worldwide next year.

The trailer gives us our first look at how Pokemon would look like IRL and that means, we are going to witness extremely “realistic”-looking Pokemon. Pikachu, in particular, looks like a fluffy stuffed animal that comes to life, which I find adorable. And this movie even got me pumped for Mr.Mime! Yes, that downright creepy creature that was interrogated by Pikachu in a dark basement is my favourite live-action Pokemon of them all and don’t even get me started with Charizard’s badass flamethrower.

The story revolves around a young man by the name of Tim Goodman (played by Justice Smith), who is searching for his missing father before he stumbles upon Pikachu who Tim believes can talk. However, as it seems, only Tim can understand Pikachu and everyone else in the city can only hear “Pika! Pika!”.

Voice acting for Pikachu is played by Ryan Reynolds which seems like an odd choice considering, Reynolds is using the same voice as he did in when he’s playing Deadpool and that’s weird because now you see Pikachu with Deadpool’s voice.

Detective Pikachu will hit the Cinemas worldwide from May 11, 2019. So is Ryan Reynolds’ voice the right one to play Pikachu? Let us know in the comments.
