ViewQwest offers 1Gbps Fibre Broadband from RM148/month

Fibre broadband has gotten faster and cheaper in Malaysia. Just recently, TIME had introduced its 1Gbps fibre broadband plan at RM199/month. Now another fibre broadband provider, ViewQwest, is offering gigabit speeds for less at only RM148/month.

According to their Facebook post, they are currently offering 1Gbps broadband at RM168/month with a 12-months contract and at RM148/month if you sign up with a 24-months contract.

For existing subscribers, they didn’t provide any details but ViewQwest will notify customers of the upgrade by email.

Unlike TIME’s 1Gbps plan that comes with 500Mbps upload, ViewQwest offers symmetrical upload and download speeds for its broadband plans. This means you’ll get the 1Gbps for both upload and download. On top of that, ViewQwest also promises zero traffic-shaping, so this means you’ll get full bandwidth for all apps regardless of what you use it for.

In terms of availability, ViewQwest’s fibre coverage is very limited in comparison with the bigger players like Unifi, Maxis and TIME. They currently cover a few property developments namely Setia Eco Glades in CyberJaya, Setia Sky 88 and Suasana Iskandar in Johor as well as Tropicana Avenue and Tropicana Gardens in Petaling Jaya.

ViewQwest isn’t new to the Malaysian market. The Singapore based provider had entered the Malaysian market in 2016 and they have rolled out commercial services in Setia Eco Glades, CyberJaya in 2017. Previously, they used to offer 100Mbps broadband for RM148/month and their highest plan was 500Mbps at RM298/month.
