The LG V40 ThinQ has a total of 5 cameras and this is how they work

Buckle up, because LG is about to announce its new flagship smartphone on the 4th of October and it is called the V40 ThinQ. The device is expected to pack some interesting features, and that includes a mind-blowing five cameras.

We know this because LG recently has posted a teaser video of their upcoming device. It showed a triple camera setup at the rear that’s mounted horizontally. Besides that, there are five camera lenses teased at the end of the video, which is obviously pointing out that the V40 will have 5 cameras in total. But you might be wondering, what can these cameras do?

Recently, well-known leaker Evan Blass has shared details of the five cameras on the LG V40 ThinQ. Based on the leak, the three cameras on the rear gets a standard angle lens for normal shots, a super wide-angle lens as well as a telephoto zoom lens. The dual camera at the front will have a standard lens and a wide angle lens which is very much useful when it comes to group selfies.

According to South Korea’s ET News report in July, it is claimed that the triple camera setup would include 20MP, 16MP, and 13MP sensors. On the other hand, the dual selfie camera module is expected to have 3D facial recognition and users will be able to take bokeh shots on the V40.  Even though it has the same camera count as the Huawei P20 Pro, both devices work very differently. The P20 Pro features a LEICA Triple-Camera setup with a 40MP main shooter, 20 MP monochrome camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom and OIS.

To find out which camera captures a better photo, we will have to wait for the official launch of the V40. So what are your thoughts about this device? Let us know in the comments section below. However, don’t expect this device to arrive officially in Malaysia any time soon since LG Mobile is almost non-existent in the market.
