You’ve probably heard the proverb, “The pen is mightier than the sword” and you can say the same with the all-new S Pen on the Galaxy Note9. Not only it’s a great tool for illustrating and taking notes, Samsung has added more powerful features which empowers you to do more.
With a built-in Bluetooth module, the iconic stylus can also work as a remote control. Here’s are the 5 new things you can try with the S Pen on the Galaxy Note9.
If you’re taking a group selfie, sometimes you’ll need to stretch your arm as far as possible to get everybody in the picture. It can be very tricky, but it won’t be a problem if you have a Galaxy Note9. Using the S Pen, you can take the shot remotely by pressing the button with your spare hand.
On top of that, you can even mount your camera on a tripod and take the shot with this remote-control feature. It’s more convenient than using the standard timer as you can take multiple shots without going back and forth to hit the shutter button.
Want a faster way to launch the camera? You can also press and hold the S Pen button at any moment to start the camera app. If you prefer to use this shortcut to launch other apps, you can change it from the S Pen Remote settings.
The Galaxy Note9 can be transformed into a PC-like experience with Samsung DeX. Using a compatible USB-C to HDMI, you can run Microsoft Powerpoint on your phone and project it onto a big screen or a projector.
To control your presentation, you can click using the S Pen to go forwards or backwards between slides. Since it uses Bluetooth, you can click through your slides from up to 10 metres away. While you’re presenting using the phone, you can still use the device to take down notes or run other applications without interrupting the big screen. Who needs a laptop when you can present with just a Galaxy Note9?
Another neat feature for the S Pen is the ability to control your YouTube and Video playback directly from the S Pen. While watching a video, you can press the button on the S Pen to pause and you can resume the playback by pressing it again. To go forward, just double press on the button to skip to the next clip on the playlist.
The Galaxy Note9 is the ultimate media device with storage options of up to 512GB. This empowers you to shoot more 4K videos and high-resolution photos. Instead of showing your holiday photos on your phone, why not project it to the big screen? You can browse through your album by clicking with the S Pen. A single click goes to the next photo and you can always return to the previous shot by double clicking on the S Pen.
The Galaxy Note9 has a pre-installed Voice Recorder which is great for recording interviews and meetings. For the best audio pickup, it is always recommended to place your device closer to the person who’s talking but that means you can’t control your recording.
That won’t be a problem with the Galaxy Note9. Using the S Pen, you can start or pause your audio recording at any time even if you’re sitting at the other end of the boardroom. Just press once to start the audio recording and you can pause and resume with another click on the button.
The all-new S Pen still works just like the S Pen from the previous Galaxy Note series. Although it’s now powered for Bluetooth connectivity, charging the S Pen only takes 40 seconds and it can last up to 30 minutes or equivalent to 200 clicks. The whole induction charging process is so quick and seamless that you won’t have to think about charging at all.
The Samsung Galaxy Note9 is ultimate tool for power users that are always on the move. With its 4,000mAh battery, you can expect all day battery life and you can get up to 1TB of storage with its top of the line 512GB model with an optional 512GB microSD card. The Galaxy Note9 is officially priced at RM3,699 for the 128GB model and RM4,599 for the 512GB variant.
