UPDATE: The vivo NEX has officially arrived in Malaysia at RM2,799.

Earlier this week, OPPO had finally introduced the Find X in Malaysia that comes with a retail price tag of RM3,699. This is OPPO’s new flagship after a long time and it comes with a sliding mechanism that houses both the front and rear cameras.

If you’re looking for another flagship smartphone that offers an all-screen phone without notches, the vivo NEX price has been revealed and it’s RM900 cheaper than the Find X.

The vivo NEX is listed at RM2,799 and this is for the vivo Malaysia set with 1-year warranty. It’s now open for pre-order with a booking fee of RM100 and they are bundling a free original gift pack with the device.

Compared to the OPPO Find X, the vivo NEX comes with a sliding selfie camera and it gets a larger 6.59″ Full HD+ AMOLED display. Unlike the OPPO flagship that relies solely on facial recognition to unlock the phone conveniently, the NEX comes with an under-screen fingerprint sensor. Another big difference is the storage where the NEX for our market comes with 128GB onboard instead of 256GB on the OPPO Find X.

To recap on the specs, the vivo NEX is also powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor that’s mated to 8GB of RAM. Over at the rear, it gets a 12MP f/1.8 + 5MP f/2.4 dual-camera setup with 4-axis OIS while the front comes with an 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. According to vivo, the selfie camera takes 1-second to slide up and it has been tested to withstand over 50,000 pop-ups without failure. As a comparison, the Find X’s sliding mechanism takes just 0.5 seconds.

The NEX doesn’t have a traditional earpiece at the top but instead, it transmits audio through the display. Powering the vivo NEX is a large 4,000mAh battery that charges via USB-C. It also gets a headphone jack at the top. Out of the box, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with FunTouch OS 4. The vivo NEX will launch in Malaysia on Monday, 23 July and according to DirectD, it will be available on 28 July 2018.

If you’re interested, you can book the vivo NEX today at RM100 via DirectD.
