Apart from the Redmi Note 5, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro is another serious contender in the sub-RM1000 smartphone segment. It was launched in Indonesia last month and it’s coming to Malaysia very soon.
According to ASUS Malaysia, the ZenFone Max Pro (M1) local launch will be taking place on 31 May 2018. The Malaysian price isn’t revealed yet but from the Indonesian launch, it could be going for less than RM1,000 for either 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM versions.
To recap on the specs, the ZenFone Max Pro gets a 5.99″ FullHD+ display and a Snapdragon 636 processor that’s mated to either 3GB, 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Storage comes in either 32GB or 64GB onboard which is still expandable via a dedicated microSD slot.
For imaging, it comes with dual-cameras at the rear which could be either a 13MP + 5MP or 16MP + 5MP combo, while the front gets an 8MP or 16MP selfie shooter. Powering the device is a large 5,000mAh battery and it runs on stock Android 8.1 out of the box. To learn more, you can check out our announcement post.
