Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ (2018) specs officially revealed

Samsung Indonesia has just revealed the new Galaxy A6 and A6+ for 2018 on their website. It basically confirms most of what we know so far from the earlier leaks.

To recap, the Galaxy A6 and A6+ are the cheaper alternatives to the Galaxy A8 series. The Galaxy A6 comes with a 5.6″ HD+ 720p display while the Galaxy A6+ gets a larger 6.0″ Full HD+ display. Instead of glass, the latest Galaxy A series duo uses metal for the back and it gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor like the newer Galaxy S9 and Galaxy A8.

In terms of camera, the smaller A6 gets a single 16MP f/1.7 main camera and a 16MP f/1.9 selfie shooter. Meanwhile, the larger A6+ gets a 16MP f/1.7 + 5MP f/1.9 dual camera setup along with a higher resolution 24MP f/1.9 selfie camera.

Interestingly, both processors appear to be different. From the Indonesian product site, the Galaxy A6+ is listed with an unspecified 1.8GHz Octa-Core processor while the smaller A6 runs on a 1.6GHz Octa-Core unit. Another difference is the maximum microSD card support where the A6+ can utilise a microSD card up to 400GB while the standard A6 can support only up to 256GB.

Both appear to come with just 32GB onboard storage but the A6+ gets more RAM at 4GB instead of just 3GB. Also confirmed is the lack of dust and water resistance for the A6 series but it does have support for Face Unlock.

Below is the full spec sheet for both models:
