Apple may be releasing a new variant of the iPhone very soon

UPDATE: The PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 8 is now official. Coming to Malaysia later in April.

It looks like Apple may be releasing a brand new iPhone variant very soon as reports start coming in about a new colour for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

Yup, according to MacRumours Apple will be releasing a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and 8 Plus sometime soon. This report comes after the website got a hold of an internal memo by Virgin Mobile, and the big unveil could happen as early as tomorrow.

In the memo, there will be limited edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models but there’s no indication on whether there will be one for the iPhone X. Instead, there’s talk about there potentially being a gold iPhone X rather than a red one.

When Apple released the red versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, they were generally well-received except for the fact that they had a white front instead of a black one. It will be interesting to see if Apple launches the iPhone 8 versions with a black front plate instead.

For now, details remain scarce but you can expect to see more information dropping pretty soon so stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, let me know if you’d pick up a red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in the comments below!
