Xiaomi’s new bezel-less Mi MIX 2S doesn’t come with a notch display

With virtually every Chinese smartphone maker releasing an iPhone X inspired “notch” display smartphone, you’ll be pleased to know that Xiaomi isn’t following the same trend, just yet. For their upcoming Mi MIX 2S, it was earlier speculated that Xiaomi could add a notch at the top of its bezel-less phone while others have indicated that it might settle for a corner notch design just to house its front camera.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has just posted a couple of teaser images of their upcoming Snapdragon 845 flagship device with Kris Wu as their ambassador. From these official images, we can confirm that the Mi MIX 2S will get a clean edge to edge display for the top half of the phone.

That also means that the Mi MIX 2S will still get a thicker bottom chin which will house the front selfie camera. While promotional pictures don’t necessarily portray the actual device in real life, the Mi MIX 2S bezels look thinner and it looks more like its original Mi MIX.

There’s no view of the back but earlier leaks have suggested that it would come with a dual-camera setup that’s mounted vertically like its Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Apart from having a Snapdragon 845 processor, the MIX 2S appears to come with 8GB of RAM and a whopping 256GB of storage. For the very first time, it will also support wireless charging. The launch will be taking place on 27 March which is on the same day as Huawei’s P20 event. Do stay tuned to us for the latest updates.
