Samsung Galaxy Note8 and S7 edge to get Android Oreo update very soon

Samsung has been quite slow when it comes to Android Oreo updates and even the first devices of the year, the Galaxy A8 and A8+, were launched with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Since last month, Samsung appears to be taking software updates more seriously as they have just updated both Galaxy S8 and S8+ to the latest Android 8.0 with Samsung Experience 9.0.

If you’re using a Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy A (2017) series smartphone, your Android Oreo update is just around the corner,

According to this site that’s apparently managed by Samsung Turkey, the Galaxy Note8 Oreo update is in its testing phase and it’s planned to be released on 30 March 2018. What’s interesting is that the site also mentions that the Oreo updates are being tested for both the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge along with the Galaxy A series for 2017.

The Galaxy S7/S7 edge update is planned to be released on 13 April while the Galaxy A 2017 could get it as early as 25 May 2018. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab S3 9.7″ is listed to receive the update on 4 May 2018.

While the information is catered for Samsung Turkey units, the updates should be rolled out rather quickly to all variants worldwide based on the recent Oreo update for the Galaxy S8/S8+. With this update, not only you get the latest security patches, but you get to enjoy the latest UI design tweaks from Android 8.0 Oreo and Samsung Experience 9.0.
