Huawei brings two new products to the table this MWC along with the world’s first 3GPP Standard 5G CPE

Huawei’s got a few new products this MWC, but we can’t say they weren’t unexpected. With a brand new MediaPad and what looks like Huawei’s attempt to tackle the MacBook Pro, they’re also debuting their 3GPP 5G CPE.

Huawei MateBook X Pro

Looking like Huawei’s attempt to emulate Apple’s extremely popular MacBook, is the ultra-slim Huawei MateBook X Pro, which is a pretty skinny 13.9 inch notebook with an 8th gen Intel Core i7/i5 processor and discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX150 (2GB GDDR5) graphics card under the hood.

The device also sports an all-new 3K touch-enabled FullView Display, which is a first for the brand. It’s specs also make it one of the most powerful and lightest notebooks on the market, at just 1.33kg and just 14.6mm thick.

On top of that, there’s a rather interesting addition of a webcam that pops up from the keyboard. It’s quite artfully discrete too, and when it’s not in use it just sinks back into the keyboard like it’s just a key.

Huawei MediaPad M5

Coming in two sizes, 8.4 inch and 10.8 inch, Huawei’s MediaPad M5 measures in at just 7.3mm and sports a 2K display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, which is pretty amazing for a tablet. The devices also sport sets of two or four stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio for a better audio experience. As far as the specs are concerned, you have a choice of 32GB or 64GB internal storage along with 4GB RAM and a pretty massive 7,500mAh battery. For those picking up the 10.8 inch Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro, it will come with the Huawei M-Pen, which features 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity for your inner artist or if you simply like to have the option available.

The Huawei MateBook X Pro and MediaPad M5 will be available across  China, Europe, North America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East starting Spring 2018.

Last but not least, is Huawei’s debut of the world’s first 3GPP 5G CPE, which provides super-fast downlink speeds of up to 2Gbps and can operate on both 4G and 5G networks, available in both outdoor and indoor configurations. It adopts the brand’s internally developed Balong 5G01 chipset and Huawei will be offering the first round of 5G commercial networks this year.
