Pre-order Microsoft’s most capable laptop in Malaysia tomorrow

To me, Microsoft’s Surface Book 2 was the only “proper” laptop they launched in 2017. It had power, looks and most importantly a USB Type C port (yeah, I love me some USB-C). But today we found out that the best part was yet to come. You can actually pre-order this 2-in-1 detachable laptop in Malaysia tomorrow!

Yup, local retailer Thunder Match Technology (TMT) revealed on their Instagram and Facebook channels that they will be accepting pre-orders for the Microsoft Surface Book 2 beginning the 7th of February 2018. Beyond that, however, they didn’t reveal any more details.

We know that with the Surface Book 2, Microsoft launched two variants, a 13.5″ model and a 15″ model and both of them pack a punch. Both sizes can be configured up to an Intel Core i7-8650U processor, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. But, there is one more thing that separates the two besides the size of the screens. On the 13.5″ model, you can spec it to have up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 GPU inside while the 15″ device can pack up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060 GPU instead.

However, all that performance and sexy design comes with quite the price tag. In the States, the Surface Book 2 has prices starting at USD1,499 (around RM5,863) but can go all the way up to USD3,299 (around RM12,904).

For more details on the Surface Book 2, check out our announcement post. Also, stay tuned for the official price reveal for the Malaysian devices.
