Samsung Galaxy Note5 64GB now going for less than RM1,800 in Malaysia

Looking for the absolute cheapest brand new Galaxy Note with an S Pen? Guess what? The Galaxy Note5 from 2015 is still available and you can get the larger 64GB capacity version for under RM1,800.

The Galaxy Note5 was first released in Malaysia with just 32GB of storage and the larger 64GB variant was introduced locally early this year with a price tag of RM2,399.

It has a 5.7″ Quad HD Super AMOLED display with an Exynos 7420 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM. While it is the first Samsung flagship to support dual-SIM in Malaysia, unfortunately, it lacks microSD card expansion. Over at the back, it still gets a capable 16MP f/1.9 main camera with OIS along with a 5MP f/1.9 front camera.

Powering the device is a 3,000mAh battery which supports adaptive fast charging via its microUSB port. For greater convenience, it also supports wireless charging. Software-wise, it is currently running on Android 7.0 Nougat but we don’t expect it to be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo. Despite being an older flagship without any water resistance, it does support Samsung Pay.

DirectD is offering the Galaxy Note5 64GB at RM1,899 while another retailer WOW Phone is selling the same unit at RM1,790. Both are listed as official Samsung Malaysia units with 1 year warranty.

If you can add a little more, you might want to consider the Galaxy Note FE. It’s a better device overall and you can get it for as low as RM2,079. Maxis is even offering the Note FE with RM0 upfront and you don’t have to pay anything for the device for the first 3 months.
