That’s right, Google Maps is getting a fresh new UI and icons with an upcoming update that will make it easier for users to navigate.
With the new update comes a new colour scheme and icons to help users quickly identify places of interest, and allows users to focus on specific categories; taking away from the gamut of information normally presented on Maps.
In other words, it will be less cluttery on map and it’ll be easier for you to find where you want to go. Need a hospital? look for that particular colour and icon, need a drink? look out for an orange coffee cup.
The changes will be rolled out over the next few weeks for Google Maps, and it will also impact other apps that use it, like Google Earth, Search, Assistant and Android Auto.
