You can pre-order the selfie expert OPPO F5 in Malaysia now

OPPO‘s latest selfie expert has officially been launched in Malaysia. It’s called the OPPO F5 and it marries OPPO’s selfie-expert front camera with a full-view 6″ display.

The OPPO F5 will go on sale in Malaysia on the 11th of November 2017. It’s currently available for pre-orders from today until the 10th of November 2017. This handset is priced at RM1,298. You can place your pre-orders at the OPPO Malaysia online store. OPPO F5 users will also get the Joker character on Arena of Valor for free!

OPPO’s new selfie-expert jumps on the big screen, small bezels bandwagon as it features a large 6″ IPS display pushing a Full HD+ resolution of 2160×1080 pixels across an 18:9 aspect ratio panel.

It’s also got bezels that are so slim that the fingerprint scanner has to be moved to the back of the device.

There is still space for a camera in front though, as the OPPO F5 sports a 20MP selfie shooter that has an f/2.0 aperture lens and comes with its own AI beautification features. It’s supposed to bring out your best face regardless of your imperfections.

At the back, you also get a 16MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens plus PDAF focusing technology.

OPPO’s phone isn’t just focused on taking pictures of your face, it also wants you to use your face to unlock your smartphone. It’s kind of like Face ID but it isn’t because OPPO says its face-recognition isn’t as secure as a fingerprint, pattern or digital passcode.

Inside, the handset is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via a dedicated microSD slot). Keeping the lights on is a 3,200 mAh battery that doesn’t come with VOOC fast charging. There will also be a high-spec variant with 6GB of RAM and a more affordable Youth variant but those won’t be coming out until sometime in the middle of December.

This handset will come running Andoid 7.1.1 Nougat with OPPO’s ColorOS skin on top.
