Motorola Malaysia is launching a new mid-range smartphone with dual-camera next Monday

As mentioned earlier, Motorola Malaysia is bringing a new mid-range smartphone which is an update to its current Moto G5 Plus. It’s the new G5s Plus and it offers a larger screen along with a new dual-camera setup at the rear. The Malaysian launch has been confirmed and it’s taking place on 6 November 2017.

To recap on the specs, the G5s Plus features a 5.5″ Full HD display and it is powered by a frugal Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB of RAM. Onboard storage remains the same with 32GB which is expandable via microSD.

Instead of a single 12MP shooter, the G5s Plus comes with two 13MP f/2.0 cameras which consists of a RGB sensor and a monochrome unit. This setup allows you to take depth effects which you can edit later for bokeh, selective black and white and background removal effects. For selfies, it comes with an 8MP f/2.0 front camera that has its own LED flash.

Similar to the original G5 Plus, it gets a 3,000mAh battery which supports Motorola’s TurboPower fast charging via microUSB. The build quality on the G5s Plus is much better than the current model as it comes with a single metal unibody design like the Moto M.

As usual, it runs on stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Motorola Experience built-in. We don’t have details on the retail price yet but we are told that it would be lower than the G5 Plus’ original price tag of RM1,299. Stay tuned to us for more details next week.
