This could be what the OnePlus 5T looks like

With the upcoming launch of the successor to the OnePlus 5 looking imminent, some might be wondering what the smartphone will look like. Will the OnePlus 5T pull a OnePlus 3T and look indistinguishable from the phone it succeeds? Or will it have its own little design flair?

We think we may have an idea on what this phone will look like and that’s thanks to OPPO.

Press renders of OPPO’s upcoming new smartphone, the R11s, have leaked online and it gives us a very clear look at what this smartphone will look like:

According to an entry on benchmarking app AnTuTu, the new OPPO R11s will feature an 18:9 aspect ratio screen that pushes a Full HD+ resolution of 2160×1080 pixels across what people believe to be either a 5.8″ screen or a 6″ screen. Because of this massive slim-bezel display, the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the back of the phone.

The handset will also be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. What makes this upgrade even more interesting is the fact that the handset is packing what looks like an upgraded dual-camera setup at the back. Instead of the outgoing 20MP + 16MP sensor, this one has a 20MP + 20MP setup instead.

If you’ve been keeping up with the news, you will know that the OnePlus 5 is almost identical to OPPO’s original R11 smartphone in terms of body, design and even dual-camera. So, when news broke that the OnePlus 5T would feature an 18:9 aspect ratio display and that OPPO had the R11s in the works, it didn’t take long to put 2 and 2 together.

It seems very likely that the OnePlus 5T would feature the new 20MP + 20MP dual-camera module as well, which will probably be very interesting. I am curious to see if OnePlus will give us a higher capacity battery like they did when they upgraded the 3 to the 3T. If they do, it could very well push the battery life well above average.

Of course, as confident as I am that my theory is correct, this still remains a theory so take it with the appropriate amount of scepticism. Nothing has been confirmed so far, though I believe everything will be revealed very soon.

What do you guys think of this? Do you agree with my theory? Let me know in the comments below.
