honor Malaysia is launching a new smartphone at a price consumers want to pay

honor Malaysia has dropped a teaser that a new honor smartphone is coming to our shores very soon. While most brands are going upmarket, the next honor device is said to be able to satisfy the needs of everyday Malaysians at a price consumers desire. It will be released in October and it promises to offer a high-quality device at a competitive price.

As shown above, the new honor smartphone will get a metal back and it comes with a fingerprint sensor. honor Malaysia has yet to reveal the model name but it looks like an entry-level honor 6A Pro.

Looking at its spec sheet, the honor 6A Pro seems to be a direct competitor to Xiaomi’s affordable Redmi 4A. It gets a 5″ HD 720p display and it runs on an Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 processor mated to 3GB of RAM and has 32GB of storage.

For imaging, it gets a 13MP main camera with PDAF and a front facing 5MP shooter. The rear-mounted fingerprint sensor only allows you to unlock your phone but you can use it to take pictures, answer calls and to navigate through your photo gallery. In some markets, there’s a non-Pro honor 6A version that comes without a fingerprint sensor, has 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage

Powering the honor 6A Pro is a 3,020mAh battery and it charges via micro USB with a standard 5V 1A power adapter. This is also a dual-SIM device but the 2nd slot is a hybrid one which can accept microSD cards up to 128GB.

In Europe, the honor 6A Pro is priced at 169 EUR (about RM840) and it is worth pointing out that phones are generally much cheaper in our region. The device is also known as the honor holly 4 in India and it is priced at 11,999INR (about RM774). How much do you think this phone would cost in Malaysia? Let us know in the comments below.
