Uber, the company that’s known for offering rides on demand has introduced UberEATS. This is their food delivery service and it has gone live starting today in Kuala Lumpur.
UberEATS runs independently from the normal Uber app and it connects Malaysians to the dishes they love. The service is already available in 27 countries across over 100 cities worldwide. Using the same Uber technology, Malaysians can order the food they want, whenever they want at a push of a button.
In the first phase, Uber is partnering with a mix of Malaysian favourites with Asian and Western delights across KL. This includes Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa, Inside Scoop, Sitka restaurant and Mikey’s original New York Pizza. According to Uber, they have more than 200 partner restaurants on their platform.
UberEATS will begin within Kuala Lumpur including central business districts and neighbourhoods of Bangsar and Damansara Heights. It operates between 9am to midnight daily with an estimated delivery time of 35 minutes. Unfortunately, they are not serving Petaling Jaya at the moment but Uber plans to expand UberEATS to more areas very soon.
UberEATS accept credit and debit cards for payment and there’s no minimum order. There is also a RM5 delivery fee that goes to their delivery partner. In addition, Uber has also worked together with JAKIM to ensure that its delivery process meets Halal requirements for both restaurants and consumers. UberEATS uses different carrier bags for Halal and non-Halal food.
As a launch promo, you can get free delivery for the first 3 orders by entering the promo code KLTASTY. This promotion is valid from now until 21 October 2017.
