Acer has finally unveiled their brand new range-topping Switch 7 Black Edition 2-in-1 detachable laptop and boy is it a doozy. It’s got some interesting specifications, however, it also has a pretty shocking price tag to boot.
With the mid-range and sort-of-entry-level Switch 3 and Switch 5, Acer has unveiled the highest spec tablet in their Switch series — the Switch 7 Black Edition. What makes it special? Well, this tablet has a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics card inside.
Much like the other tablets, the Switch 7 utilises Acer’s Liquid Loop fanless cooling technology only it’s been amped up here through the use of a second loop for better cooling. Spec-wise, the Switch 7 will feature an 8th-generation Intel Core i7 processor and a 13.3-inch 2256×1504 pixel resolution IPS display.
What’s more, Acer’s added an auto-deploying kickstand called the Acer AutoStand that’s designed to be deployed and retracted easily with one hand. There’s also a battery-free embedded stylus powered by Wacom EMR technology with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and tilt support. Acer also includes an optical under-glass fingerprint sensor that can be used to power on and log in with a single touch.
The Switch 7 Black Edition will retail with prices starting from USD1,699 (around RM7,255).
Acer also updated their Swift 5 with a brand new chassis that weighs less than 1kg. It’s also sporting new 8th-generation Intel Core processors and a Full HD IPS touch display.
The new Swift 5 will see prices start at USD999 (around RM4,226)
Finally, Spin 5 also receives a spec bump to the new 8th-gen Intel Core processors, up to 16GB of DDR4 memory and a Discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card option for the 15-inch model. The new Spin 5 laptops will also feature two front-facing speakers with Dolby Audio Premium technology for better audio no matter your orientation.
The new Spin 5 will have prices starting from USD799 (around RM3,412).
