Samsung wants you to do bigger things with the Galaxy Note8

A week before its big event, Samsung has just released its first video teaser of the Galaxy Note8. After introducing the Galaxy S8/S8+ earlier this year, Samsung wants you to do bigger things with their upcoming flagship smartphone.

The Galaxy Note series is considered a game changer for Samsung as it first started off as an experiment to fit a tablet in the palm of your hands. Over the years, these phablets are often regarded as a technological showcase as it was one of the first to introduce 4K video recording, USB 3.0, curved displays and adaptive fast charging. The Galaxy Note series also helped to get consumers to be more receptive to a bigger phone thanks to its productive S Pen features.

It has been a year since the ill-fated Galaxy Note7 was announced and the Galaxy Note8 will be the most anticipated device for those who are looking to replace their existing Note.

To refresh your memory, the Galaxy Note8 launch is taking place next week on 23 August 2017. The event will be streamed live and you can watch it at 11:00PM Malaysian time.

From what we’ve seen so far, the Galaxy Note8 will look like a slightly bigger Galaxy S8+ that comes with an S Pen. Under its glass and metal body lies a similar processor as the Galaxy S8/S8+ but it will come with 6GB of RAM. The screen is said to be slightly bigger at 6.3″ and it retains the same QuadHD Infinity Display with an 18.5:9 display aspect ratio.

The Galaxy Note8 would also be Samsung’s first dual-camera flagship smartphone that comes with zooming capabilities. As usual, it will get IP68 water resistance, wireless charging and support for its adaptive fast charging via USB Type-C. This time, the Galaxy Note8 takes a step back in battery with a reported 3,300mAh capacity.

We’ll find out more next week. As always, stay tuned to us for the latest updates.
