The original Moto G5 Plus was announced earlier this year at MWC 2017 and it is currently available in Malaysia at RM1,299. Now it appears that the folks at Lenovo is giving this mid-ranger a well deserving upgrade which is expected to be called as the Moto G5S Plus.
According to serial leakster @evleaks, the new G5S Plus will have a bigger screen at 5.5″ inches and it pushes the same full HD resolution as the current 5.2″ Moto G5 Plus. Under the hood, the specs remain unchanged with a proven Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB of RAM but storage now goes up to 64GB onboard.
Apart from the bigger size, the build quality for the new model is said to be more premium. Looking at the leaked press picture above, it appears to be more well built like its current Moto M.
Another major change is its rear camera. Instead of a single 12MP f/1.7 dual-pixel auto focus unit, the G5S Plus will come with a dual-camera system which uses two 13MP sensors. One of the sensors shoots in colour while the other shoots in monochrome. Over at the front, the selfie camera is now upgraded from 5MP to 8MP.
Lenovo is seriously pushing Motorola back in the game and they have recently launched a total of 5 new smartphones in Malaysia last week. Their new flagship, the Moto Z2 is expected to launch globally in two weeks time. That also comes with a dual-camera system.
