It looks like ASUS is just about ready to launch a brand new lineup of smartphones as press invites begin to roll out for what looks like the launch event for the upcoming ASUS ZenFone 4V.
The date has been set to September 21st and the event will be held in Rome, Italy. Included in the “save the date” is a short caption that reads “Take a walk on the wide side” alongside a small V graphic with framelines around it.
From what we can tell, it looks like the upcoming ZenFone 4V will be yet another camera-centric smartphone. Taking a walk on the “wide” side seems to indicate that the device may have some sort of wide-angled lens. Whether it’s a single unit that can be cropped in for regular photos or a dual-lens unit like the one on LG’s G6, we don’t know yet.
However, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if ASUS goes for a dual-camera module because they have done in with the ZenFone 3 Zoom. Apparently, the ZenFone 4V will be only one of five different phones in the new ZenFone 4 lineup.
These devices also include the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Pro, ZenFone 4 Max and ZenFone 4 Selfie. What’s interesting here is that there will be a ZenFone 4 Selfie which first launched during the ZenFone 2 era, but was skipped in the ZenFone 3 lineup. As its name suggests, the ZenFone Selfie (and likely the 4 Selfie) will be a selfie-centric smartphone too.
