Lenovo Malaysia has just sent out media invites for the Malaysian launch of the Moto Z2 Play. This Motorola’s 2nd generation of modular smartphones that support its Moto Mods accessories.
The Moto Z2 Play was globally announced earlier this month and it replaces its current mid-range Moto Z Play. It gets a 5.5″ Full HD Super AMOLED display while the fingerprint sensor at the front has been redesigned with a better looking oval shape. It will also support one button navigation which can replace your on-screen buttons.
Underneath its metal body, you’ll find a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 626 processor that’s mated to an option of either 3GB RAM + 32GB storage or 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. If you need more, there’s also microSD expansion supporting up to 2TB.
In the imaging department, the Z2 Play gets a 12MP f/1.7 dual-pixel camera that supports LaserAF, PDAF and is assisted by a dual-LED flash. For selfies, it gets a 5MP f/2.2 camera that also comes with its own dual-tone LED flash light.
Like the original Z Play, it gets a 3.5mm headphone jack but the battery is smaller at 3,000mAh which is rated to last up to 30 hours. It charges via USB Type-C and a 15-minute quick charge is said to give you 8 hours of battery life. As expected, it comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
