If ASUS‘ launch in Computex 2017 left you drooling for their uber thin yet powerful devices, you’re in for a treat because today, Malaysia becomes the first region in which ASUS launches their brand new laptops.
The star of the show has to be ASUS’ brand new ZenBook Flip S — the world’s thinnest convertible laptop. Coming in at just 10.9mm and weighing 1.1kg, it’s not just super thin for a convertible, it’s also super thin for a laptop in general. This is possible thanks to ASUS’ ErgoLift 360-hinge mechanism that’s supposed to be both durable and smooth.
As far as specs are concerned, the ZenBook Flip S features a 13.3-inch Full HD touch display, an Intel Core i7-7500U, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD. It also comes rated with an 11.5-hour battery life and fast-charging technology that gives it a 60% charge in just 49 minutes.
The ZenBook Flip S is priced at RM6,699 and will be available beginning August. For more info, check out our hands-on with the device.
Next up, we’ve got the new ZenBook 3 Deluxe. This laptop also keeps with the thin-and-light mantra as it measures just 12.9mm and weighs 1.1kg. It’s got a 14-inch display that tops out at Full HD resolution and has Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 on top for extra protection.
Inside, it’ll be powered by up to an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, 16GB of RAM and a 1TB PCIe SSD. For I/O, the ZenBook 3 Deluxe will also feature two USB Type-C ports with support for Thunderbolt 3 and a third that doesn’t. For ease of access, the ZenBook 3 Deluxe will sport a fingerprint scanner.
The ZenBook 3 Deluxe will be priced at RM8,299 and is available now.
Finally, the last entry for today’s ZenBook lineup is the ZenBook Pro. It’s a powerhouse of a laptop with an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, a GTX1050 graphics card, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD packed inside.
Despite that horsepower, the laptop is still pretty portable, measuring just 18.9mm thick and weighing 1.8kg. ASUS says that the laptop can last up to 14 hours on a single charge and has fast-charging that will give you 60% of juice in just 49 minutes. Much like the ZenBook 3 Deluxe, it also features a fingerprint scanner. For better audio, the ZenBook Pro has a pair of speakers flanking the keyboard that’s been tuned by Harman/Kardon.
The ZenBook Pro will be priced at RM7,299 and will be available beginning August.
For those on a tighter budget, ASUS has you covered too with their brand new VivoBook S and VivoBook Pro. The VivoBook Pro can be powered by an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, with a Full HD display, 4GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 graphics card and a 512GB SSD + 2TB HD.
You also get Harman Kardon certified audio, Intel Optane Memory support, a fingerprint scanner, plus 2×2 802.11ac WiFi. The VivoBook Pro is priced at RM4,799.
Alternatively, you can go for the more affordable VivoBook S that comes in two variants. The base model features a 15.6-inch Full HD display, an Intel Core i5 U-series processor, an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card, 4GB of RAM and a 1TB hard disk drive.
It’s got a fingerprint scanner, measures just 17.9mm thick, weighs 1.5kg and will be priced at RM2,899. If you want more performance, you can upgrade the processor to an Intel Core i7-7500U processor and add a 128GB SSD for RM3,699.
The VivoBook S will be available by the end of June while the VivoBook Pro will hit shelves sometime at the end of July.
