Major update rolling out for BlackBerry Android smartphones

BlackBerry has announced a major update for its present and upcoming Android smartphones that would be made downloadable soon. The update is said to improve certain productivity features that could be found pre-loaded in the phones.

The company gave the Productivity Tab’s interface a reconstruction in order to make it cleaner and more user-friendly. It also adds a new Quick Triage function that is for items in the Hub, and new Quick Actions for entries in Contacts, including Phone, Text and Email.

This update will be made available through the Google Play Store, so BlackBerry Android users should receive a notification when it’s available for download. At which point it will automatically be downloaded when connected to Wi-Fi.

As of now, the following smartphones are in the running to get the update: BlackBerry PRIV, BlackBerry DTEK50 and BlackBerry DTEK60. BlackBerry said for users on other Android devices should stay tuned as the update will be available for them too. The BlackBerry KEYone was not mentioned, but will most likely come with this update pre-loaded in it.
