OnePlus 3T arriving in Malaysia soon?

If you’ve been hoping and praying for the brand new OnePlus 3T to finally hit Malaysian shores (officially), your prayers may soon be answered as the device has been spotted on SIRIM.

Could the official local OnePlus 3T go on sale in Malaysia soon?

This entry was just approved about a week ago via Brightstar Malaysia — the official distributor for OnePlus products in Malaysia. To give you a quick recap, the OnePlus 3T sports a Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and a 3,400 mAh battery. Screen resolution stays the same at 5.5-inches with a Full HD resolution. It also comes in a new Gunmetal colour which is a little darker than the 3’s Graphite. In a nutshell, OnePlus fixed almost everything wrong with the OnePlus 3 and gave it a cooler colour.

Before this, you could also buy the OnePlus 3T through grey importers like DirectD, but those were for the non-local sets or AP sets. Besides the difference in warranty, radio bands and operating software (for China sets), these non-local grey-import sets tend to be more expensive because the grey importers are pretty much free to set whatever price they want. As a result, the AP set OnePlus 3T was priced at RM2,299 when it first came out.

However, things change when the official set is launched. Currently, you can pick up an AP OnePlus 3T from DirectD for RM1,899 which I think is a steal for the specs. How much would Brightstar sell it for? Our best guess puts it somewhere upwards of RM2,000.

What do you think? How much would you spend on the OnePlus 3T?

Thanks, @KevinNgTK for the tip!
