What’s better than awesome on-demand streaming content? On-demand streaming content in HD. If you’re a fan of iflix, you will be happy to know that the company is rolling out HD streaming.

The service announced today that all new titles, including The Magician and Emerald City, published on their platform will be available in the new HD format. iflix has also said that iconic shows like The Flash, Avatar and Titanic, among others will also feature HD streaming. Besides that, iflix is also working on updating all their current content, but that will take some time.

iflix’s new streaming quality doesn’t just mean 720p video streaming for the content on their site, it also means an upgrade in audio quality. They’re also saying that everyone on the site will be able to enjoy this upgrade free of charge.

HD streaming is currently available on iflix’s web browser (for laptops and desktops) as well as their Google Chromecast app for TVs with support for other platforms coming in the “near future”. I’m someone who frequently streams iflix content on my smartphone so I was disappointed to find that mobile streaming doesn’t have HD. When queried about this, iflix said that they’re looking at “how to make it less data reliant for mobile, ensuring quality but not bleeding data”. Here’s to hoping they figure that out soon.

iflix is available for RM10/month or RM96/year. Learn more here.
