The Chinese New Year is almost upon us. It’s the time for festivities, fireworks, ang pows, the number 8, food and feeling guilty about eating too much food. It’s an awesome time of year.
But, one other tradition the Chinese like to observe during this auspicious time is to get their hands on new products. Clothes, accessories, shoes, gadgets, you name it, people are probably out queuing up to buy it.
If you’re buying tech, Lenovo wants your attention because they’re offering a whole bunch of goodies when you buy selected products this CNY season.
First, the smartphones
Lenovo Mobile is giving out prizes worth up to RM33,888 through its new #KamKaiPoHei campaign. This campaign will last until the 5th of February 2017 and will reward customers who buy selected Lenovo or Moto smartphones from any of their authorised retailers nationwide.
These devices are Lenovo’s newly announced P2, K6 Note, K6 Power and A6600 Plus, as well as the Moto Z, Moto Z Play or the new Moto M. If you pick up any of these devices and answer 2 questions via SMS, you’ll stand a chance of winning a whole bunch of prizes including the grand prize of a 40″ LED HDTV.
There are a total of three categories under this campaign: Shop & Win, where buyers buy the selected phones and answer questions to win prizes; Golden Egg Lucky Draw, where customers who buy selected phones at authorised retailers can draw a ‘Golden Egg’ for additional prizes; and the Tongue Twister challenge where participants can win a brand new Lenovo A6600 Plus smartphone.

Now, laptops and Lenovo’s new AR phablet
Alongside their mobile devices, Lenovo’s also rewarding their customers who pick up selected laptops, tablets and phablets.
First up, you’ve got the Lenovo Miix 510 2-in-1. It’s sort of like a Microsoft Surface Pro, but with Lenovo’s excellent watchband hinge that gives the device up to 170-degrees of angle adjustments. It also comes with a 12.2-inch 1920×1200 Full HD display plus Dolby-enabled stereo speakers. You can configure it to pack up to an Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. Then. you’ve also got Lenovo’s Yoga Book. It’s this concept-y futuristic laptop/tablet hybrid that has effectively two screens and a watchband hinge connecting them. Finally, Lenovo’s brand new PHAB2 Pro — the world’s first Tango-enabled smartphone. It’s designed for augmented reality experiences and comes powered by a Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
