Take on any surprises with the Samsung Galaxy A 2017

This post is brought to you by Samsung Malaysia.

The latest Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 (2017) aren’t just well built but they are also the first in the Galaxy A series to be rated IP68 dust and water resistant. This gives it added protection for whatever life throws at you. But what’s the big deal about having a water resistant phone? Read on to find out.

Dust and Water Resistant

You’ve probably seen flagship smartphones with IP68 rating but now Samsung is taking the same worry-free feature to its new Galaxy A series. So, what’s the IP (Ingress Protection Marking) rating all about? The first digit indicates solid particle protection while the second digit is its resistance to liquid.

With the IP rating of 6 for dust and 8 for liquid, the Galaxy A series is fully dust tight and it can withstand being submerged in water up to 1.5 metres deep. As a comparison, IP67 rated devices are rated for submersion up to 1 metre deep.

Living life unplanned

With that in mind, the Galaxy A5 and A7 (2017) are well protected against the elements. Rain or shine, the Galaxy A series is up for it. Spill something onto your phone? Just wash it off. Dropped it into a water fountain? You don’t need to panic. Note: that having an IP68 rating does not necessary mean that the device is waterproof.

Do more with your smartphone

Since it handles wet situations pretty well, you can take your Galaxy A to the shower or by the poolside. Take selfies at a water theme park or better yet, an underwater picture! The possibilities are endless when you have a water-resistant phone in your hands.

Pre-order your Galaxy A series now

The Galaxy A5 and A7 (2017) are available for pre-order at RM1,699 and RM1,899 respectively. The Galaxy A5 features a crisp 5.2” Full HD AMOLED display with a 3,000mAh battery while the Galaxy A7 gets a bigger 5.7” screen and an even larger 3,600mAh battery. Both are running on a 1.9GHz Samsung Exynos 7880 Octa-Core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

Unlike other dual-SIM smartphones, the Galaxy A series supports two SIM cards and a microSD card simultaneously. Both front and back feature a high resolution 16MP f/1.9 camera and it also comes with a fast charging USB Type-C port.

For a limited time, Samsung is also bundling a Samsung Level U Pro wireless headphones worth RM399. So, what are you waiting for? Experience the Galaxy A Series 2017 and place your pre-order in-stores by 22 January 2017. For more information visit http://www.samsung.com/my/offer/a2017-preorder/
