Flying off soon? You can drop off your Galaxy Note7 at KLIA and KLIA 2

With most major airlines including AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines and Malindo Air banning the Galaxy Note7 from their flights, Samsung Malaysia is setting up special booths to provide support to its current users.

Since you’re not allowed to carry the device onboard your flight, you may return your Galaxy Note7 at these booths located at KLIA and KLIA 2. This is applicable for Note7 units purchased from Samsung Malaysia and from other markets.

The Samsung Galaxy Note7 booths are located are the following locations:
KLIA: Level 5, Main Terminal (besides Emirates ticketing counter)
KLIA 2: Mezzanine Level, Departure Hall, Sector 2

Before handing your device in, customers are urged to perform a full backup using the Samsung SmartSwitch application. Alternatively, you can use the Smart Switch Mobile app to transfer your data onto a microSD card. For those who have purchased their Galaxy Note7 overseas, Samsung Malaysia will issue a “Samsung Galaxy Note7 Receipt”, which you can use to claim your refund at your home country.

If you need a temporary phone for your travel, Samsung Malaysia is also providing loan units subject to availability. Do note that the refund process will only take place after you’ve returned your loan unit.

In case you missed it, Samsung Malaysia is offering full refunds or exchange for the Galaxy Note7. If you choose to switch to a Galaxy S7 edge, Samsung will refund RM300 to your bank account and if you opt for a full refund, they will transfer RM2,879.10 which is the pre-order price for the Note7. All original Samsung accessories for the Note7 are refundable as well but you’ll need to provide a proof or purchase.
