Honor 8 priced from RM1,699 in Malaysia?

If you’re looking for a new premium flagship smartphone without breaking the bank, the honor 8 is coming to Malaysia very soon. Ahead of its official local that’s happening next week, it looks like the official price for the honor 8 has been revealed on a local online store.

As spotted by The Ideal Mobile, the honor 8 pre-order page had went live on GEMFive. There are 2 specs being offered with its own colour options. The base 4GB RAM + 32GB storage model is going for RM1,699 and it is available in either black or white.

Meanwhile, the premium version with 64GB storage is priced at RM1,899 and it’s available in either Saphire Blue or Gold. At time of writing, both pre-order pages are no longer available so there could be changes when it launches next week. To recap on the specs, the honor 8 is quite similar to its cousin the Huawei P9. It gets a 5.2″ Full HD display at the front and under the hood it gets a Kirin 950 processor mated to either 3GB or 4GB of RAM depending on spec options. If the on-board 32GB or 64GB storage isn’t enough, you can expand further via microSD up to 128GB.

For taking pictures, it shares a similar dual 12MP f/2.2 camera setup at the rear as the Huawei P9 while the front gets a 8MP f/2.4 shooter for selfies. The rear also gets a fingerprint scanner but it also works as a customisable action key. Keeping the lights on is a 3,000mAh battery which also does fast charging via its USB Type-C port. With its 9V/2A charger, a 10-minute charge claims to give you 2 hours of talk time or 6 hours of offline music playback.
