Is Xiaomi launching Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4 tomorrow?

Last month, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Pro which is the flagship model in the affordable Redmi series. If that wasn’t enough, Xiaomi will be introducing yet another new smartphone (or possible two) tomorrow.

To refresh its entry to mid-range offering, the Chinese brand is said to be launching a new Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4. Similar to its Redmi Pro lower-spec variant, the Redmi Note 4 is said to be having a 5.5″ display with a MediaTek Helio X20 processor under the hood. There rest of the hardware is pretty familiar with a 13MP main + 5MP front camera and a 4,100mAh battery. It is likely to come with 2 specs with an entry level 2GB RAM + 16GB storage option and a higher spec 3GB RAM + 64GB of storage.

Meanwhile, the Redmi 4 is said to be running on a newer Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB of RAM. The front is likely to retain a compact 5″ HD 720p display and it is powered by a rather large 4,100mAh battery. Both devices should be running on their latest MIUI 8 that’s layered on top of Android 6.0.1.

From the teaser picture above, it looks like these devices will be exclusive with China Mobile. For our local market, we don’t think these models will be available anytime soon. Apart from the recent Xiaomi Mi 5, their more affordable models like the Redmi 3 and Mi Max are still not sold in Malaysia. Even the Redmi Note 3 high-spec version is hard to come by especially with its limited flash sales on the Malaysian Mi Store.
