Lenovo sneakily makes the Vibe X3 available in Malaysia

Chinese New Year is only 10 days away and since it falls on the 8th of February, you can bet a lot of prosperity will be coming our way (sorry, didn’t mean to rhyme). Lenovo wants to sweeten the deal by quietly putting the Vibe X3 on sale and throwing in some goodies in the process.

And best of all, we won’t be getting the watered down Youth version. Instead, the specced out version will be available in Malaysia.

To recap, the Vibe X3 runs a Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor that’s clocked at 1.5GHz, mated to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. If needed, there’s a microSD slot that allows you to add an additional 128GBs as well.

It’ll also bear a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display that has a sheath of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection. The Vibe X3 will feature a huge 21-megapixel Sony lens for the rear while on the flipside an 8-megapixel sensor will handle all your selfies. It’s rear camera packs phase detection autofocus and is able to record 4K videos.

Audio will be a big selling point for the device as it carries dual Dolby Atmos front-facing stereo speakers. It’s equipped with Hi-fi 3.0 thanks to OPA1612 amplifiers from Texas Instruments and features a codec that helps with noise and echo cancellation on its three mics.

Lenovo’s Vibe X3 is dual-SIM (hybrid) capable, features a fingerprint sensor on the rear, supports 4G LTE network bands and has a 3600 mAh battery.

During Lenovo’s CNY promotion that runs from today (29th January) till the 14th of February 2016, they’ll be throwing in a 32GB microSD card and Nut Smart Tracker for free when you purchase the Vibe X3.

The device retails for RM 1,899 (w/ GST) and can be purchased at any Lenovo authorised retailer. At the same time, after purchasing a device, you can also be in the running for their Prosperity Lucky Draw. Head on over here for more info.

Thanks to John Ong for the tip and Maxim Van Haren for the photos of the promo.
